Prepaid Codes
Pay now, redeem later. Prepaid Codes turns any product in your Shopify store into prepaid codes. One customer buys a code to give as a gift. A company buys twenty to hand out to its staff. Each code is good for exactly one item.
The problem it solves
On Shopify, a 100% off discount code applies to every unit on the line. Hand one to someone and they can set the quantity to ten and walk away with ten free items. Native discounts cannot cap a code to a single unit, and the checkout extensions that could require Shopify Plus.
Prepaid Codes enforces the cap inside Shopify checkout itself, with a Shopify Function. It works on every plan.
How it works
- Pick the product. In the app, add the product you want to sell as prepaid codes. The app creates and manages the discount behind it.
- Mint the codes. Ask for as many as you need, from the admin or through the API, then hand them to your customers.
- The customer redeems. They add the product to their cart and enter the code at Shopify checkout. One item comes out free, at the live price. Extra quantity is paid at your normal price.

Prepaid Codes is a monthly subscription, billed through Shopify.
- Starter: 10 products, 1,000 codes per product.
- Standard: 25 products, 10,000 codes per product.
